I've been photographing portrait sessions of all sorts for 10+ years now, and I'm pretty confident that I'll never get tired of it. Portrait sessions can be conducted in-studio, outdoors/on-location, your home, restaurant, kitchen --- or just about anywhere in between. My studio is incredibly mobile, and I supply all lighting equipment, backdrops, etc. All you have to bring is yourself!
I'm a big fan of finding the best available natural light whenever possible. However, my clients know that lighting is my specialty, and I always have studio lighting on hand to use whenever necessary. Good light is what makes a good photograph, and it takes a trained eye to find that perfect light.
This image was photographed in-studio in Gowanus, Brooklyn, using Profoto strobes and the most gorgeous Oliphant Studio backdrop. The client makes stunning traditional Japanese tenugui headbands, so I was hired to shoot fine art portraits of real people wearing these beautiful pieces of head-wear.
